Florida Payday Advance Counseling
Considered by many to be a form of predatory loan, Payday Advances are defined by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a deferred presentment instrument; a currency transaction that is exempted from anti-usury laws that might otherwise limit the interest that is charged on loans.
To protect consumers in the State of Florida, the Florida Legislature passed the Payday Advance Law that became effective on October 1, 2001 and provides relief to consumers ensnared in a payday advance loan.
